Christien BrinkgreveChristien Brinkgreve (1949) studied sociology at the University of Amsterdam, where she also obtained her Ph.D.degree (1984). Her dissertation was on the history of the psychoanalytic movement in the Netherlands (Psychoanalyse in Nederland. Een vestigingsstrijd; Psychoanalysis in the Netherlands, A struggle for recognition). Her main interest are the intimate relations between men and women and parents and children, and the management of emotions. Some of her publications: Margriet Weet Raad. gevoel, gedrag, moraal in Nederland 1938-1978 (1978), i.s.m. Michel Korzec (Margriet is here to help. Feelings, Behaviour, Morals in the Netherlands), De vrouw en het badwater (The Woman and the Bathwater)(1992), en Van huis uit. Een onderzoek naar sociale erfenissen 1997), i.s.m. Bram van Stolk (From Birth. A study on social inheritances). She was an editor of the Amsterdams Sociologisch Tijdschrift. She was professor of women studies in Nijmegen from 1987-1991, and now she is professor in the Social Sciences at the University of Utrecht. |
