Jan van de Beek
Jan van de Beek (1968) studied mathematics at Utrecht University and got his M.Sc. in 1997. He graduated on the development of the infinite series concept in seventeenth century British mathematics.
In 2002 he got his M.A. in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam (with distinction). His thesis dealt with the public debate and government policy with regard to asylum seekers.
His PhD research at the ASSR focuses on the way the Dutch government was dealing with, and involved in the production, distribution and consumption of scientific knowledge regarding the economic and demographic effects of immigration during the period 1965-2005.
