Marc Hoijtink

Marc Hoijtink obtained his Master’s degree in Sociology (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam and his BA in Social Work at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. He wrote his master thesis on governmental changes in Dutch social work and its influence on the daily work and professionalism of social workers. Before Marc joined the ASSR, he worked several years as a social worker in Amsterdam and as a researcher at the endowed chair Active Citizenship of Prof.dr. Evelien Tonkens at the University of Amsterdam.Marc has published several articles on social work about self regulation, managerism and democracy in care and social work. At the ASSR he is researching so called ‘outreaching’ social work aimed at citizens living in ‘deprived’ neighbourhoods in the Netherlands.
