Juno Blaauw

Juno Blaauw (1979) studied Psychological Methodology and Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. She graduated cum laude in both 2006 and 2008. Her first MA thesis dealt with the relationship between a newly introduced normative definition of ethnic civic community measured by Mokken's (2006) index of concentration, and the decline in civicness of the Turkish community in Amsterdam between 1994 and 2000. The second MA thesis consisted of a theoretical and empirical comparison of Mokken's (2006) index of concentration and three other indices.

In April 2009 Juno joined the ASSR as a Ph.D. student. Her research project concerns the interaction between the revitalisation of neighbourhoods and the social mobility of the second generation migrants that live there. The project is part of the research programme "Social mobility: Individuals, groups, neighbourhoods" which was established by the IMES, ASSR and MUS in cooperation with the NICIS Institute and seven Dutch cities. The research project is funded by the NICIS institute.
