Erica ter Haar – van TwillertErica ter Haar – van Twillert studied politics & policy. Before this study she worked for six years as an occupational therapist in several fields of Dutch healthcare. At this moment Erica is a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam School for Social science Research (ASSR - www.assr.nl) at the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on the impact of innovative projects in Dutch Healthcare for finding solutions to existing persistent problems and expected future challenges. The central question is: how can processes of change that emerge from local practices, have an impact beyond (in time and space) these practices and contribute to a wider system innovation and transition? Her main interest is how new structures and practices develop, and the role of agency and power in this process. The empirical research includes projects which use communication technologies to develop new (better) ways of treatment and care (telecare). The research is situated in the Dutch Knowledge network on System Innovations (KSI - www.ksinetwork.nl).
