Eric Roose

Eric Roose (1967) graduated with M.A. degrees in Public International Law, Cultural Anthropology, and Art History (the latter cum laude) from Leiden University. His specializations were State and Law in Africa, Cognitive and Structural Anthropology, and Comparative World Architecture Studies. Between 2004 and 2008 he conducted PhD research at Leiden University, and between 2005 and 2008 was also an Affiliated PhD Fellow at the International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World (ISIM) in Leiden. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Amsterdam School for Social Science Research (ASSR), working within the NWO (Cultural Dynamics) funded research programme 'Islamic Cultural Performances: New Youth Cultures in Europe'.
