Research clusters

Based on the perspective described above, the Amsterdam School emphasizes five research themes:

• Health, Care and the Body
• Institutions, Inequalities and Internationalisation
• Mobility, Culture and Social Inequality
• Religion, Politics and Identity
• Rethinking Politics

These five research themes will be elaborated below. It is important to note, beforehand, that these fields are not sharply demarcated and that some studies transcend the boundaries between them. This is regarded as an asset rather than a shortcoming; the cross-border research projects are an important cohesive force in the research programme as a whole.
